Consulting Services

Good Agricultural Practices (G.A.P) help farmers to produce fruits and vegetables that are safe. The United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service offers a voluntary certification program to meet farmers and growers contractual requirements with retail and food service buyers. Perry Johnson Food Safety Consulting will help you meet these requirements that will eventually pave the way to achieve GFSI benchmarked schemes such as Global G.A.P., Primus GFS etc. We can also assist you in meeting other buyer specific schemes such as Tomato G.A.P, Mushroom G.A.P. Our experts have years of experience in the field and we will work with you to manage your farm practices effectively and efficiently to minimize product safety issues and cost.

Good Animal Farming Practices (G.A.F.P): Animal productions are exposed to risks from biological, chemical and physical agents. Perry Johnson Food Safety Consulting will assist you in implementing Good Animal Farming Practices, including good dairy farming practices in the areas of general farm management, animal health management, animal feeding, infrastructure and animal and product handling.

Global G.A.P: Perry Johnson Food Safety Consulting will assist you in the implementation of the various Global G.A.P standards such as, Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) and Primary Safety Standard (PSS).

Primary Safety Standard (PSS): It is a perfect option for fruit and vegetables producers seeking food safety certification in the USA and Canadian markets and is accepted by major retailers. This is a GFSI benchmarked certification and created strictly for North America.

Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA): The scope of this standard covers agricultural businesses such as fresh produce, field crops, livestock production, plant propagation and compound feed manufacture. It helps farmers improve farm management practices and compliance with legislation in the areas of food safety, protection of the environment, worker health and safety, and animal welfare. This is also a It is also a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked scheme.

Primus GFS: This is also a GFSI benchmarked scheme and the standard is applicable to fresh produce and minimally processed products for human consumption. Perry Johnson Food Safety Consulting can assist you in the effective implementation of this scheme.

United Fresh Harmonized Standard: United Fresh Produce Association Harmonized Standard outlines the requirements for food safety practices for pre-farm gate operations. This initiative has developed food safety Good Agricultural Practices standards and audit checklists for pre- and post-harvest operations, applicable to all fresh produce commodities, all sizes of on-farm operations and all regions in the U.S.
