Why is it important?

This pre-requisite program facilitates the mitigation or reduction or elimination of biological, physical and chemical contaminants arising from poor internal layout, improper movement patterns of materials, products and people.

Poor internal layout including equipment layout is one of the primary reasons for biological contamination of products.

Regulating movement of materials, products and people is critical to avoid cross contamination – biological and allergens.

Improper design and poor maintenance of drains in production areas could also result in poor hygiene and possible product contamination.

By implementing appropriate control measures for the identified hazards we may be able to mitigate or eliminate these risks.
