Why is it important?

This pre-requisite program ensures the utilities such as water, air used in the production environment do not become a source of biological, physical and chemical contamination.

Water as an ingredient or as steam or ice may have biological and chemical contaminants. Appropriate control measures are required to ensure water does not constitute a source of contamination.

Similarly compressed air and other gases may also carry biological, physical and chemical contaminants. Use of appropriate filters is strongly recommended to ensure these contaminants are removed.
